TEAM BUILDING REGATTAS

Race participants would arrive at the marina to board their vessels. Boats and Racers set sail for the race course while going over the race course on the provided race chart and familiarizing themselves with the boat and having the Captain briefing. Vessels positioned for race start. Race begins with an air horn start. Each group races as their team works together to round the three markers of the racecourse. Team members include: groups of helmsmen, navigators, radio operators/time keepers, line handlers, grinders and course lookouts. The race will be complete when each vessel rounds the course 3 times and the first vessel across the finish line is the winner. Following the race the vessels will have time for a fun sail to unwind, relax, enjoy just being out on the water and can discuss their team effort and how they performed in the race. Captains then dock their vessels and disembark.

The Team Building Regatta provides:
1)Experienced United States Coast Guard licensed Captain aboard each boat.
2)Official race course.
3)Sailing Instruction.
4)Properly licensed sailing vessels (6 pass. each, SERENA/USCG certified for up to 20).
5)Crew gratuity. Crew gratuity is standard for any yacht charter. With this included those participants aware of charter etiquette will not feel compelled to tip the crew.
6)Not only the opportunity to participate in the team building experience, but also a magnificent view of beautiful Charleston Harbor and her historical sites, and have some fun!

55’ Custom Catamaran, Maximum Capacity 70 guests (including any caterers, suggest having 68 guests on board and 2 servers to make the 70 guests) plus 2 crew
PALMETTO BREEZE, THE CATAMARAN IS A GREAT VESSEL FOR A “SPECTATOR BOAT” BUT WE CAN ALSO LET HER PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE IF WE DO NOT FILL HER TO MAXIMUM CAPACITY.

50’ Columbia, Maximum Capacity 20 guests plus 2 crew
SERENA, THE COLUMBIA, IS GREAT FOR A “FUN SAIL” GROUP, SPECTATOR BOAT, OR WE CAN ALSO HAVE HER PARTICIPATE IN THE REGATTA WITH A MAXIMUM OF 12 ON BOARD. SHE IS ONE OF THE FASTEST BOATS IN THE FLEET AND QUITE COMPETATIVE.

ALL OF THESE BOATS PARTICIPATE AS REGATTA PARTICIPANTS. THESE 6 PACK BOATS GIVE US A TOTAL OF 42 “RACERS.” IF WE ADD THE COLUMBIA (12 GUESTS) AND THE CATAMARAN (38 GUESTS) TO THE “RACING” MIX WE CAN ACCOMMODATE A TOTAL OF 90 GUESTS TO “RACE.”

We also sometimes use a 30 passenger small motor vessel as a “start” boat.

Option 1: 90 Racers (using 6 pack boats, 12 on SERENA and 38 on PALMETTO BREEZE/the catamaran), 90 total participants

Option 2: 90 Racers from above (Option 1) and add “Committee” boat of 30, 120 total participants

Option 3: 48 Racers (using 6 pack boats), 20 on SERENA (fun sail) and 70 on PALMETTO BREEZE (spectators), total participants

Option 4: 116 from above (Option 3) and add “Committee” boat 0f 30, 146 total participants

Option 5: Any number of racers for 6 pack (8 available/totaling 48 racers, each boat is paid for a 6 person minimum). Great if less people participate, for example 4 or 5 boats.

Option 6: We can accommodate 170 by using Option 1, having a maximum of 90 race participants and put the remaining 80 folks on a Harbor Tour boat. 170 total participants
